Product Description
The Tree Blocks Barked Blocks 21-Piece Set is a simple set of natural wooden building blocks for towers, bridges, forts and whatever a child dreams up next.
Made in Tree Blocks' Wisconsin workshop from reclaimed and sustainably harvested materials, each block keeps the look of the tree it came from. It is an open-ended toy with no instructions and no right answer, which is exactly why it gets played with year after year.
Why Parents Love It
- Open-ended play: blocks become castles, ramps, fences for toy animals and roads for small cars, so the play changes as children grow.
- Five heights: pieces are cut in 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 cm heights, so kids can sort, stack and compare as they build.
- Natural materials: made from reclaimed and sustainably harvested materials, with the character of real wood.
- Made in the USA: crafted in Tree Blocks' own workshop in Wisconsin.
- Easy cleanup: the set comes in a fabric bag for storing between builds and carrying along.
Built for Real Outdoor Use
Blocks travel well. Bring the bag out to the porch, a picnic blanket or a shady spot in the backyard, and add sticks, pinecones and rocks to the build. A fort for a toy bear needs a few walls and a lot of imagination.
On rainy days, the same set keeps building indoors. Pair it with nature finds from the last walk, and the story keeps going.
Things to Know
- Age and supervision: Tree Blocks does not list a recommended age. The smallest pieces are 2 cm, so supervise young children and those who still mouth toys.
- Natural variation: each block is cut from real wood, so color, grain and edges vary from set to set.
- Care: wipe clean with a damp cloth and air dry, per Tree Blocks. Bring the blocks in from the yard rather than leaving them out in the weather.
- Set size: 21 pieces is a starter set; combine sets for bigger builds.

Why ODSS Recommends It
This is the block set we reach for when families want one toy that does a lot: simple, real, made in the USA and open-ended enough to last through many stages of play.
We especially like that it goes outside as easily as it stays in, mixing with sticks and stones until the line between toy and nature disappears, and that means more time outside.

FOUNDED BY WOMEN. BUILT FOR ADVENTURE.
ODSS was started by mothers who saw firsthand how time outside builds resilient, confident kids. What began as helping outdoor schools equip students for all-weather learning grew into a bigger mission: Help families raise resilient, confident kids by making it easier for children to stay outside longer.
