Baby ThermoBall Insulated One-Piece – The North Face_#color_active-blue

Frequently Asked Questions

How warm is The North Face Baby THERMOBALL™ One-Piece?
The Baby ThermoBall One-Piece is a warm insulated layer designed for chilly outdoor adventures. It combines ThermoBall™ synthetic insulation throughout with soft recycled polar fleece lining in the hood and upper body. We like it for crisp stroller walks, chilly outdoor gatherings, travel and everyday family time outside when baby needs more warmth than a fleece alone can provide.
What is ThermoBall™ insulation, and why is it good for babies?
ThermoBall™ is a synthetic-cluster insulation designed to provide lightweight warmth and help retain insulating performance even when wet. This one-piece uses ThermoBall™ insulation made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. For families, that means cozy insulation without relying on down and a layer that is well suited to changing outdoor conditions.
Does ThermoBall™ stay warm if it gets wet?
One of the advantages of ThermoBall™ synthetic insulation is its ability to help maintain warmth even when wet. That's particularly useful for kids' outdoor gear, where changing weather and everyday messes are part of the adventure. Keep in mind, though, that the one-piece itself is not waterproof.
Is The North Face Baby ThermoBall One-Piece waterproof?
No. The North Face does not list this style as waterproof or water-repellent. The synthetic insulation can continue providing warmth when damp, but the outer fabric isn't designed to replace waterproof rain or snow protection. For prolonged wet weather, baby will need additional weather protection.
Is this a snowsuit?
We would describe it as a warm insulated one-piece rather than a technical snow suit. It provides head-to-toe insulated coverage for chilly conditions, but it doesn't have the waterproof construction we'd look for in a snowsuit intended for direct contact with wet snow or slush.
How is the Baby ThermoBall One-Piece different from the Baby Campshire One-Piece?
The biggest difference is insulation. The Campshire is a midweight fleece layer, while the ThermoBall One-Piece adds synthetic insulation for substantially more cold-weather warmth. Choose the Campshire for cool and transitional weather; choose the ThermoBall when temperatures drop and baby needs an insulated outer layer.
